Ceremony and Ritual

Working with Christy to create our wedding ceremony was a wonderful experience. We began with only an inkling about how we wanted our ceremony to feel, and Christy helped us turn that into a ritual that represented us perfectly. Our family and friends continue to tell us how much they enjoyed our ceremony and how true to us it felt. Christy made sure the details were taken care of, and was a calming presence to us throughout the planning process. Her contributions to our wedding were invaluable!

As a Life-Cycle Celebrant®, I lead you through the process of creating ceremonies and rituals that uniquely and meaningfully reflect you, your story, your values, your intentions. I can craft and officiate your ceremony, helping you co-create rituals that are artful, personal, healing, whole, beautiful, and inclusive of your family and friends, or private and intimate. Whatever the occasion, I will assist you through the process of visioning and designing the sequencing, wording, personal stories, readings, symbols and rituals you want to include, making your requested revisions as we go along: it is a creative process, not a package. Handcrafted ceremony keepsake books are also an option. The services of a Wedding Celebrant are particularly valued by:

Interfaith, Cross Cultural and LGBTQ Couples:  Recent statistics show that at least 60 percent of Catholics between the ages of 18-38 are married to non-Catholics, and 50 percent of Jewish marriages are to non-Jews. Many clergy will not co-officiate with those of other faiths, nor perform an interfaith or LGBTQ wedding, yet couples often want to honor and include elements of their different faiths and cultures while including their families together in a harmonious, respectful way.

Spiritual Ceremonies:  Couples who want neither a religious ceremony, nor a purely civil ceremony, who yet want to insure that their ceremony has a true spiritual quality to it, are well-suited to work with a Celebrant.

Second Marriages: When one or both partners have been married before, couples often want their wedding to be reflective of the people they have become and the relationship they envision for this marriage. Also, couples with children are looking for ceremonies that are inclusive of their children and the new family they are creating.

Renewal of Vows: Couples who are renewing their vows and/or celebrating milestone anniversaries want their Renewal Ceremony to reflect their journey, their family legacy, and their future.
